Ersberg Out

On Tuesday, the Kings placed Erik Ersberg on the Injured Reserve because of a lower body injury. Ersberg last played on Saturday night, where he finished a shootout loss against the Stars, but there was no indication on whether or not he was actually injured in that game. Ersberg did not practice on Monday and the team recalled Jonathan Bernier from Manchester in the AHL on an emergency basis, likely to back-up Jonathan Quick for Tuesday's game against the Wild. Now that he has been placed on the IR, he won't be available for the Kings' game on Wednesday night in Denver.

Ersberg is a Box 16 goaltender on the Sheet and is available for selection in the second Waiver Draft next week, but with only 8 wins to his name and fantasy value, this injury may be the straw that sways the decision away from selecting Ersberg for anyone's fantasy team. The emergence of Quick to the Kings' line-up is also another major factor for any major goaltending decision for your fantasy team.

Watch closely, in case Bernier gets some ice-time here before the All-Star Break, as he is pegged as the goaltender of the future in Los Angeles.
