Points updated through Sunday's games...

Team of the Week this week was THE Team... they weren't the only team to score 27 points, but they were the team to climb the most places with their points. For that, THE Team gets the nod of being the best team of the pool for Week 16. Led by Martin Brodeur and Daniel Alfredsson, they amassed enough points to climb about 4 places in the Standings.

Player of the Week for Week 16 is Alexander Ovechkin (Langdon River Dogs). He led the River Dogs, who were the other team to amass 27 points this week, with a week-dominating 7 points. The River Dogs are now nearing the top of the table with consistent performances from guys like Ovechkin.

Monday's News:
Kim Johnsson (Team Lowes Racing) has been listed day-to-day with a concussion. Sergei Samsonov (Team Lowes Racing) is also listed day-to-day with a leg injury. Peter Forsberg (Pull the Goalie) should dress for the Flyers tonight against Pittsburgh. Cory Stillman (The Shaving Moes) is a game-time decision against Montreal with a chest injury. Ed Jovanovski (Don's Dinos) is scheduled to return this week... vague, I know. Pierre Turgeon (The Late Impact) is still 7-to-10 days away with his shoulder injury. Alexander Frolov (Doug's Deadbeats) should be good to go tonight after missing last week with the flu.

Friday's News
Image hosted by Photobucket.comThe only Blackhawk left in the pool, Brent Seabrook (Taffy's Tyrants), returned to the line-up last night. Seabrook missed 13 games with a sprained knee, that he suffered just after being picked in the waiver draft. He didn't register any points, but the Hawks did beat the Avalanche last night... but the offensive upside is there for the young Seabrook... just be patient.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comJason Spezza (Sherpa's Yaks) returned after missing 7 games with a chest muscle injury. He didn't skate on the big line and didn't register any points in the Senators loss to Anaheim. He may return to the big line come the weekend when the Sens host the Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada.

Thursday's News:
Image hosted by Photobucket.comWell, doesn't this just suck... Ziggy Palffy (Pull the Goalie) retired this week. That won't register many points for Pull the Goalie... actually, that means no more points from his 2nd round pick; A guy that you expect to score quite a few points with. This is what you'd call... unlucky! It's a pretty crappy time to come too... while Pull the Goalie is in the midst of a good middle of the pack battle.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comPavol Demitra (The Shaving Moes) may be sitting out a considerable time longer than expected due to the discovery of nerve damage in his injured leg. The Kings (and Moes) leading scorer this season will be a HUGE loss for the coming weeks. Could this mean a fall from first place??

Image hosted by Photobucket.comBryan McCabe (Taffy's Tyrants) is looking more and more like he'll be out until after the Olympic Break. That means about a month... with about 3 weeks worth of play missed, including his spot on the Canadian team jeopardized. The Tyrants have been desperate to keep themselves out of the bottom three, but with the services of the best offensive defenseman in the league, their fate looks awfully low.

Day-to-day injuries include: Peter Forsberg (Pull the Goalie), groin pull; Eric Lindros (Taffy's Tyrants), wrist upgraded; Henrik Zetterberg (Don's Dinos), hip injury; Marty Turco (Don's Dinos), lower body injury; Alex Frolov (Doug's Deabeats), flu; Steve Eminger (Sherpa's Yaks), ankle; Lubomir Visnovsky (Slim Pickens), cervical strain; Teemu Selanne (Slim Pickens), groin; Glen Murray (Team Lowes Racing), foot; Roman Hamrlik (Slim Pickens), knee.

Returns: Adam Foote (Team EA), missed 9 games with a hip injury; Jiri Slegr (Thanx For Comin' Out), missed 5 games with a back injury; Jason Spezza (Sherpa's Yaks), scheduled to return tonight after missing 10+ games with chest injury.
