Bishop Agrees to Play for Stars

Make it 2-for-2, in terms of goalie rights being dealt and contracts to follow right away.

The Dallas Stars agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent-to-be Ben Bishop on Friday afternoon, signing him to a 6-year, $29.5 million deal, which works out to be a touch less than $5 million per year on an annual cap hit.

Bishop was dealt from Los Angeles, earlier this week, and it was reported that the Stars were very high on his priority list, which would explain why the deal went down so quickly.

This now means that the Stars have three pool worthy goalies from the 2017 season locked in for the 2018 season, which should mean that they are far from being done in this off-season, be it at the expansion draft or through other means.

I think we can all expect to see Bishop as the number one guy, come opening night in October, which is a pretty big win for the Stars, as he should give the team a little bit more stability in net.
