Back pain was the leading cause of the end of a great career. Panthers centre, Joe Nieuwendyk, retired from hockey today, leaving one pool team on the lurch for the rest of the year.In pool terms, only Mike R. had Nieuwendyk as the two other teams who took him, Chris M. and Brian M. both dropped him for more scoring. Mike has already made his five trades in the year and is now left with a guy who is guaranteed not to make the line-up for any more games in Miami. If there wasn't an argument for keeping a trade or two around for retirements or long-term injuries.
