Senators Start Tonight

The Senators will open up their playoff campaign against the Penguins on Wednesday night as the much maligned underdog. With a bucket-load of injuries already hampering their hopes, the Senators may find themselves going into their first round series against Pittsburgh much differently than they did last season... with little to no expectations.

The loss of Daniel Alfredsson (Box 13) indefinitely to a head/knee injury will hurt their potent offense, while the loss of Mike Fisher (Box 17) will greatly hurt the defensive capabilities against the top lines of the Penguins. Both players feature on the penalty kill as key players, so that looks to be taking a hit as well. Both of these players were lost to the team indefinitely, so it may not be in your best interest to pick up any Senators before the 5pm deadline today, as they may not make it out of the first round.

If you were to make some Ottawa decisions, this should be somewhat the look of the team.
