Polak Re-Signs in St. Louis

On Thursday, the Blues announced that they had re-signed yet another potential restricted free agent, well before the July 1st turnover date, as defenseman Roman Polak signed a new 5-year deal, said to be worth $13.75 million, which works out to be a $2.75 million cap hit per season.

Polak finished 134th in defenseman scoring for the hockey pools, which puts him well outside a drafting position for my pools, but he's obviously valued for his defensive play on the team and will be around for a while.  If he can find some more of an offensive touch, he could be a real dark horse in a couple years.
