30 Entries Into the Pool, Open Until Puck Drop

Well, it looks like it is going to be a down year in Playoff Pool participation this year, which isn't a terrible thing. A fewer number of teams to manage isn't a horrible thing.  As of Monday morning, I have 30 teams entered in, which looks like it'll be a "winner take all" situation, which isn't a bad pay day for a $10 entry, right?

Further to my post from Monday night, the pool selections see the most popular teams in either conference now being the New York Rangers in the East, 77 of 90 possible selections, and the Vancouver Canucks, 76 of 90 possible selections, making for a rematch of the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals.

The most popular player in the pool, to this point, is Sidney Crosby, who has 24 of 30 possible selections, while in the West, Henrik Sedin continues to lead with 14 of a possible 30 selections.  The West is far more spread out this year, which is encouraging for keep the pool interesting early on.  With the pool being as spread out as it is, it will likely mean that there will be some greater separation at the end.

I will be keeping the entry sheet open until the first puck drop, which goes at 5:30pm MT, possibly a little bit later, if you can't quite make it in time.  Do let me know, if that's going to be the case and I'll hold off on closing it down.
