On Wednesday, the Leafs signed Liljegren to his entry-level deal, giving him the full 1st round salary and bonuses that could improve his pay day to around $1.3 million per season.
The Maple Leafs got one of the more interesting prospects in the draft, one that was vying for 1st overall at one point in the couple years leading up to the draft, but his stock fell sharply, when there were questions about his work ethic about. The Leafs appear to be happy with their talented rearguard, so it will be interesting to see if he can make his way onto the roster.
With the top four spots set, there will be some chatter leading up to camp, as to whether or not Liljegren can jump past Alexey Marchenko, Martin Marincin or Connor Carrick to find a spot in the top seven.
