Player of the Weekend



Despite being down 2 games to 1, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the playoff pool leading scorer, Sidney Crosby had a up and down sort of weekend. Much to the enjoyment of the 38 teams that picked him, his five points, including the game winner on Saturday, made a splash in the pool. Crosby and his Penguins will try and even up the series against Ottawa tomorrow night.

Game Winning Goal Scorers of the Last Couple Days
Brendan Shanahan leads the list with his game winner on Saturday against the Thrashers. A big bonus point for the two teams that chose him over some big stars. As alluded to before, Sidney Crosby scored the winner against the Sens on Saturday. Vincent Lecavalier broke an early third period tie with the eventual game winner against the Devils. Finally from Saturday, Marc-Andre Bergeron scored to upset the President Trophy winners in a big Islanders win.

On Sunday, Nicklas Lidstrom scored the eventual game-winner under the 4-minute mark of the first period against the Flames; Daniel Alfredsson's first of two was the winner against the Penguins; Rob Niedermayer salted the wounds of the Wild halfway through the third for the winner and finally, Taylor Pyatt scored the overtime winner for the Canucks against the Stars.

Four teams rejoiced when their Box 5 defenseman, Robyn Regehr, returned to the Flames line-up. Unfortunately for them, he left the same game with what was known as a leg injury. Flames brass wouldn't confirm whether or not this was the same injury that he returned from. It's unknown how long he'll be out for now.


Game 3 of the Predators/Sharks series may become a bloody affair before it all ends tonight. With the number of crushing blows and game misconducts thus far, it would be no surprise to me to see a little blood on the ice from these two carnivorous teams. Alexander Radulov will miss tonight's game because of the suspension handed down after his hit on Steve Bernier. Bernier is questionable for tonight's game. He wasn't taken in the pool, so he won't be dearly missed by anyone in our standings. Radulov, on the other hand, was taken three times and his scoring touch thus far will be missed.
