Tomorrow Is The Last Day

There is only one more playoff spot to be decided on Sunday, but we could have a little bit of drama in key match-ups in the pool. So, here we go... if you're here and you're wondering for the win. This is who's playing tomorrow for our top two teams.

Dieter vs. Don

Jarome IginlaMarkus Naslund
Miikka KiprusoffMiikka Kiprusoff
Kristian HuseliusDaniel Sedin
Brett ClarkBrett Clark
Martin BrodeurMartin Brodeur
 Chris Drury

Forget about what the Colorado/Calgary does or does not mean in the Standings, it may mean a little something in the pool. Now the lead might be too much to over come, but a big day for the Canucks could mean big things for Don, especially if the Sabres annihilate the Flyers and Drury has a big day out. 13 points is the amount of points that needs to be made up... somewhat impossible, one may think. If the Flames are shutout by the Avalanche, there would still have to be massive afternoons for Naslund, Sedin & Drury. Even three 4-point afternoons wouldn't be enough, but that's unofficially of course.

Let's not forget the race for third place... Jeff leads Dale going into the last day ahead by 7 points (unofficially). I must stress the "unofficial" as Monday morning will be the last tally for changed scoring. Sorry, I'll move on.

Jeff vs. Dale
Jarome IginlaRoberto Luongo
Marty TurcoDaniel Sedin
Andrew BrunetteMartin Brodeur
Brett ClarkThomas Vanek
Martin BrodeurJaroslav Spacek
Toni Lydman

Seven points with these players could be a little more believable to make up in the last day, but there is a lot of talent going for both the third and fourth place teams. There's a good chance that the goalies may be rested before the playoffs start, but there is no guarantee of that either.

AND THEN... we have the race for the last money spot. Seven is the magic number as Paul is 7 points up on Caterina going into Sunday's action, but each of them have quite a few players going tomorrow, so it should be a great showdown.

Paul vs. Caterina
Sergei ZubovAlex Tanguay
Miikka KiprusoffMartin Havlat (injury)
Wojtek WolskiRoberto Luongo
Robyn Regehr (injury)Daniel Sedin
Brett ClarkHenrik Sedin
Martin BrodeurScott Gomez
Thomas VanekMartin Brodeur
Jaroslav SpacekSean Hill
Toni LydmanMartin Biron

There's a lot to be said in this matchup, because there's lots of possibilities. A big Canuck win against Phoenix could do wonders for this race, in Caterina's favour of course.
