Fringe Trade (Jun 13)

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Kings moved to reacquire goaltender Peter Budaj in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning, sending forward Andy Andreoff the other way.  Budaj was a hockey pool worthy goalie in the 2017 season, when he took a good portion of the load, when Jonathan Quick went down, posting some very good numbers that year.  The Kings later traded Budaj to the Lightning, since the season was somewhat of a bust and they needed the space.

Last season, the 35-year old Slovak keeper only appeared in eight games for the Lightning, posting 3 wins and 6 points.  The move to Los Angeles makes him the number two guy there, again behind Quick, and a Quick-Budaj 1-2 combo could go a long ways, in theory.  This will be a good combo to watch and possibly snag late on in the draft, if you still need a goalie.
