Anson's Blue Jacket Blown Off By Hurricanes

One of the rumoured players to move has done just that on Friday morning. Anson Carter (Box 3) was picked up by the Carolina Hurricanes for nothing more than a 5th round pick in 2008. It's pretty rare to use the Blue Jackets logo this season, but it was bound to happen before Tuesday. Carter will be used to spur on some of those scorers, much like Mark Recchi did last season for the Cup Champions.

The Hurricanes have been in dire need of a little more scoring as players like Eric Staal (Box 14) and Erik Cole (Box 13) haven't quite done their utmost in the scoring department. The arrival of Carter may do Staal and/or Cole a favour in giving them another option to pass to and may increase production some.
