The Vancouver Canucks are now among the teams dealing with some big injury problems, as they are already without forward Alex Burrows, they have announced on Thursday, that they will also be without defenseman Alexander Edler for an indefinite period of time, pending further tests. Edler reportedly suffered a knee injury in the team's game against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday and now his timetable for a return is now somewhat up in the air.
In 27 games with the Canucks, Edler has scored 3 goals and 6 assists, which is well below expectations for him this year. Edler has been criticized by the coaching staff for his inconsistent play, but now an injury will keep him on the shelf for the time being.
The injury to Edler will impact the pool in the same way as the injury to Burrows, as they are both on Tony D.'s team. Tony is already having a rough Week Ten, only having 3 points through Thursday night's action and his projected games played is below 20 for the rest of the week. Tony lost all the ground he had made up in recent weeks, dropping from 13th down to 18th in Week Ten.
