2014 Draft Class Signings (Aug 5)
The Anaheim Ducks signed one of their draft picks over the August Long Weekend, as Nick Ritchie, the 10th overall pick in June, was signed to his 3-year entry-level deal. Ritchie was one of the more likely candidates to make the NHL immediately out of the draft and in Anaheim, there may be a good chance of him making the jump. Ritchie is a bigger body with tons of strength, projecting to be a strong power forward, which may play well into the Ducks' hands. With some of the changes at the Duck Pond, Ritchie could figure onto a line with either Ryan Getzlaf or Ryan Kesler and that may give the Ducks a little more strength in the top six. If that pans out, he may be a good pick-up in the hockey pool draft.
