On Tuesday night, it was revealed that Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Gustav Forsling underwent wrist surgery and is now expected to be out of commission for the next 14 weeks, give or take. 14 weeks would put him out until near the end of November, which will cost him the first six or seven weeks of the regular season, a quarter of the year gone like that.
My early projections for him were to improve upon his previous season-high of 13 points and find his way into being pool worthy at 25 points. That number will certainly come down and he'll be more of an option for the Waiver Draft, midway through the year.
