The Blackhawks have reportedly signed
Tomas Kopecky to a new 2-year deal. This makes two Red Wings heading over to the Windy City today. Kopecky joins Marian Hossa in Chicago for about $1.2 million per season, which is a pretty good bargain for the forward and the Blackhawks have done well to re-tool their line-up a little bit.
In 2009, Kopecky played in 79 games for the Red Wings, scoring 6 goals and 13 assists in some limited ice-time or playing in a lot of defensive situations. He does bring quite a bit of speed to Chicago, which the team is built on at the moment, so this should be a good fit. Whether or not his scoring goes up from here, it's still a tad sketchy.
| Forwards | Defense | Goaltenders |
| Marian Hossa | Duncan Keith | Cristobel Huet |
| Patrick Kane | Brent Seabrook | |
| Jonathan Toews | Brian Campbell | |
| Andrew Ladd | Brent Sopel | |

With this deal and the Hossa deal done already today, the Blackhawks have now got $45.5 million set towards 14 players and have an average salary over $3.2 million now. They have put a lot of money into the team now and they are really beginning to look good with it.
