Well, the Bruins have been busy, haven't they? First, they move Kobasew out and now they bring Dan Paille in. The Bruins have acquired Paille from the Sabres for a pair of picks that they have stored, including a conditional pick, which could be either their own or that of the Hurricanes.

Paille hasn't been a big player for the Sabres to start the season, as he's only played in a pair of their opening games. In those two games, he has picked up one assist.

ImplicationsAmazingly, there is some pool implications, as Paille on the Sheet in Box 22. Paille is in a pretty spread out box of picks, but he wasn't one of them, losing picks to players like Michal Frolik and Brendan Morrison. I would be curious to see how Paille fits into the Bruins' system and whether or not his fantasy value will increase at all.

Salary CapIn the last team update I did for the Bruins, the team had 22 players on their roster at a $58.4 million. The team then cut Vladimir Sobotka and traded away Chuck Kobasew to bring it down to 20 players. The injury to Milan Lucic will discount his current entry-level deal for the next few weeks, so there was some space opened up for Dan Paille's $1.125 millon cap hit. It's hard to get an actual salary figure on the Bruins with a lot of this math already needed to be done, but I have a current annual number of $56.4 million, which includes Lucic's full annual number.

Paille should have a spot all ready for him there in Boston, but it's likely only in a third or fourth line capacity. That means his scoring won't be needed more than his hard work for good solid minutes. If he can generate some offense, he could see himself move up just as easy, but let's not jump ahead of ourselves.
