Shoulder Surgery for Burrows

The reports have been confirmed that Canucks forward Alex Burrows has undergone off-season shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and according to his agent, his rehab may cause him to miss time in the regular season as well.  The amount of time that Burrows will need to recover has not been officially confirmed by anyone or the team, so it really is anyone's guess.  If the injury is similar to Mikko Koivu's injury, which was blogged here at the end of March, upwards of 14 weeks seems likely, which would put Burrows in camp around September 22nd, plenty of time before the season starts at the beginning of October.

A minor signing for the Canucks on Tuesday, as they have re-signed defenseman Aaron Rome to a new 2-year deal.  Details of the deal are still not disclosed, so there is no cap hits or anything to report.  Rome played in 49 games for the Canucks in 2010, picking up 4 assists.  I would not classify him as fantasy worthy at all, but it will be interesting to see if his deal is a two-way deal, just in case they pick up some quality blueline talent after July 1st.  Right now, I would consider him on the roster.
