It appears that the Edmonton Oilers have activated Ryan Whitney off of the Injured Reserve, just before their game against the San Jose Sharks, but he didn't dress, giving himself an extra day off before his expected return to the line-up against the Canucks on Tuesday night. Whitney has been dealing with ankle problems this season, including a bout of tendinitis, which has kept him out for the last few weeks.When Whitney went down, Chris M. was chasing down the 16th spot in the standings and going into Tuesday night's action, he is holding onto the 18th spot, with a fair bit of space between him, both above and below. Injuries and some cold play have been the main reason why Chris' team and it hasn't just been Whitney.
