Mock Draft of the Week Eighteen Waiver Draft

Next week, we look to solidify the final order of the last Waiver Draft of the season, but I thought I would take a quick look at what the Week Eighteen Waiver Draft may look like, as of this moment here, using the standings, as they are, as my guide.

The top three teams are all looking to work their way out of the basement, so if Mathieu Perreault can somehow manage his way back into the Jets lineup before the Week Eighteen draft, he should go number one overall to Allan, assuming he has the 1st pick.  The other two teams are looking to improve their goaltending, so Allan taking Perreault almost seems like a lock from here.

Since the rookie prizes won't be instituted until next season, I don't foresee rookies being taken ahead of other players, but for the sake of thinking about it, I do have a couple teams bumping up some rookies, just to see if they can win the race, before the end of the year.  Mike grabbing Mark Stone, Wilton taking Anders Lee and Grant taking Nikita Zadorov, highlights what might happen next season, if this was the case.

I think Round 2 would turn out to be much more of the same, in the end.  There are teams in the pool that need to get rid of some dead weight, although there really isn't much to choose from to help fill in the gaps.  Teams gotta do, what they gotta do.
