Top Prospect Signing (Jul 3)

I don't think there is much doubt that we'll see Patrik Laine in a Winnipeg Jets uniform at the start of the 2017 season and bot the player and team got some of that important paperwork done on Sunday, signing the entry-level deal that would see him qualify for suiting up next season.

Laine will have most of the rookie bonuses available to him after his $925,000 salary, but it will be just the salary that counts against the cap to start, as all bonuses will be worried about after the regular season is over.

The Jets have some space in their projected lineup for the talented Finn and it would take something drastic to change their minds, one would assume.  It will be a question about how far you think he can go, when it comes to scoring in the NHL.
