Recent Contract Extensions (Oct 4)

There's no better way to open a brand new season, than with a 7-year, $42 million contract extension, eh Nikolaj Ehlers? Ehlers and the Jets agreed to the new pact and it was announced first thing on Wednesday morning, only hours ahead of the season opener, at home to Toronto.

Last season, the Dane finished with 25 goals and 64 points in all 82 games for Winnipeg and he was headed to restricted free agency at the end of the 2018 season.

The 21-year old finished as a late 2nd round pick in last season's scoring ranks and still managed to drop down to a 4th round pick for Brian in this year's draft.  This season does have bargain written all over it, which is good news for Brian... and the Jets!
