Mike York has moved to the desert today, signing a 1-year, $1 million deal with the Coyotes. York, 29, scored 10 goals and added 11 assists last season with the New York Islanders and will get a chance to pick up a little more ice-time in Phoenix. York will try and boost a line-up that wasn't much for points last season. York only ranked 400th last season with his 21 points, but the rest of the line-up (that still exists) didn't fare much better. Only Shane Doan managed to crack the Top 100 (at 70th). York has been a Top 100 player before, but had hovered a couple seasons in the Top 200, before falling down to number 400.It's not really anything to brag about, but here's the updated look of the Coyotes... theoretically:
| Shane Doan | Steve Reinprecht | Niko Kapanen |
| Mike York | Mike Zigomanis | Fredrik Sjostrom |
| Bill Thomas * | Mikael Tjarnqvist | Kevyn Adams |
| Patrick Fischer | Josh Gratton * | David Carcillo |
| Ed Jovanovski | Zbynek Michalek |
| Keith Ballard * | Derek Morris |
| Nick Boynton | Brendan Bell * |
| Mikael Tellqvist |
| David Leneveu * |
Yup, that's right. It's really that bad. On the bright side, all the signed players in this line-up is only worth $27.4 million (roughly) and they have room for a move or two to improve, but if you read the remaining free agents post from yesterday, there really isn't a great deal to spend their money on.
