Confirmation arrived on Tuesday morning that Andrei Markov will indeed be out for the remainder of the playoffs after further testing showed that he had suffered a torn ACL in his knee. Markov will now be another player that will be having a long Summer of rehab and extra workouts to be ready for the 2011 season, but I would imagine that by September, he should be okay and ready to go, trying to make it through the season completely healthy.
In these 2010 Playoffs, Markov did register 4 assists before getting injured in Game One against the Penguins. Fortunately for poolies this year, he wasn't a major part of anyone's team, which comes as no surprise, since the Canadiens were not a popular team in the pool to begin with.
He may, however, be added to my list of players to avoid in the Draft next year, for being such a health risk through the past couple seasons. Stay tuned for that list.
