The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Wednesday that defenseman Carl Gunnarsson will miss the final two outings of the season, due to a separated shoulder, which he suffered on Tuesday night against the Sabres. Gunnarsson has had a very good season for the Leafs, providing some much needed depth on their blueline and has climbed up the scoring ranks a little bit more this year, but not by too much. In 76 games, the Swedish blueliner has 4 goals and 15 assists and may get a longer look at next year's draft.
Jani K. saw some great improvement in his second draft, as his team will finish in the top 10 this season, way up from 17th in his debut year. Jani has Gunnarsson, as a waiver draft pick-up, but his injury won't likely affect the positive finish he had this year.
