Caps' Wilson Suspended For Three Games
On Wednesday, the NHL Department of Player Safety came down pretty hard on Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson for his illegal check to the head of Penguins forward Zach Aston-Reese on Tuesday night. Wilson was handed a 3-game suspension, which starts with Game 4 tonight and he will now only be eligible to return to the playoffs, if either the series with Pittsburgh goes to seven games or the Capitals move on to the Conference Finals.
Wilson has been playing on the top line for the Capitals in these playoffs and has been productive in the scoring department, picking up 2 goals and 5 assists in his first nine games.
In the pool, Wilson was taken twice, by Thor (11th) and Grant (20th), so there won't affect the money race too much at the moment.
