Morning Playoff Notes (May 3)

The Tampa Bay Lightning regained home-ice advantage with a convincing 4-1 win in Game 3 over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night. Two quick goals from non-pool forward Ondrej Palat got the game started and the Lightning never really looked back from there. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 28 saves for the victory, while Victor Hedman was the only other notable pool player in this game, picking up a pair of assists.

Game 4 between the Golden Knights and Sharks was definitely a must-win game for the home side, as San Jose did not want to be heading back to Sin City down 3-1 in the series and those vicious fish responded in kind.  Led by Martin Jones and the penalty kill, the Sharks were able to shut out the Golden Knights, Jones making 34 saves in the 4-0 victory.  It was another non-pool player picking up the game-winner on the night, as Marcus Sorensen got the scoring started for the Sharks, but Logan Couture and Brendan Dillon did their parts, picking up 2 points each in the win.

It's just a quick update today, as I wasn't really able to catch the games last night, hence the lack of updates on the website until just now.  The evil twins still hold the 1-2 spots in the standings, but Neil is still hanging around, 9 points back of 2nd place.

We'll probably see a few more updates tonight, as there's nothing planned on the evening.  Game on!
