Lightning Lose Ramo to Russia

The Lightning may have lost their back-up goalie, Karri Ramo, to a 2-year deal in Russia. Ramo, expected to be a restricted free agent in July, has likely gone to Europe to get a lot more ice time than what he was getting behind Mike Smith in Tampa Bay.

In 2009, Ramo appeared in 24 games, having a 4-10-7 record with an assist, registering 9 pool points. He hasn't been a fantasy worthy player yet in his career, although he was coming in with some hype to his name. The Lightning has not been very accommodating for him in his quest to be a regular NHL goalie, so Europe should be a good starting point, since he wants to start again.
