Canucks Bytes

The Canucks are going through some last minute pains before the end of the regular season as well. Vancouver was without Daniel Sedin against the Kings on Thursday ngiht due to some back spasms. He is currently listed as out day-to-day and is a game-time decision on Friday night, as the Canucks continue their quick California road trip in Anaheim. Daniel's absence also expedited the return of Pavol Demitra to the line-up on Friday night, he wasn't scheduled to return from his personal absence until Sunday, when the Canucks returned home.

The Canucks also lost the services of Alex Burrows to an errant shot that caught him in the throat. Burrows left the game and didn't return, but the post-game comments were positive and it sounds like he won't miss any more time, including the game against the Ducks. We will still consider him day-to-day, especially if he doesn't play tonight.

ImplicationsNot having Daniel Sedin in the line-up was a big loss in both pools on Thursday night. Daniel is in the money in the Draft, as a part of Dale B.'s team. Dale dropped down to 4th in the standings, but only sits 2 points back of 2nd going into Friday's action. Daniel is also a part of Clayton's team in the Sheet pool and will also make an appearance on John P.'s team, with a week to go after a trade request has been sent in.
