Ponikarovsky Gets Two Games

The NHL disciplinarians came down with a 2-game suspension for Penguins forward, Alex Ponikarovsky, on Friday afternoon. Ponikarovsky was given a 5-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct for his hit on Islanders forward, Josh Bailey. I have included the video below for your reference.

The 2-game suspension will finish his regular season, as the Penguins have games on both Saturday and Sunday to wrap it all up. Ponikarovsky will be eligible to return for Game 1 of the playoffs, which is yet to be determined when the Penguins will start at home.

This incident also ends Bailey's regular season, as he suffered some facial fractures as well as some facial lacerations. This should not effect his availability for training camp next season at all.

ImplicationsWell, Stuart has Ponikarovsky in the Draft, so there is no implications in that pool at all. He was in too high of a box in the Toronto line to make any difference in the Sheet pool. We've determined that he'll be back for Game 1 of the playoffs, so he will be good to go in that pool. This post is really just a footnote on the season.
