Countdown to Prizes - Wednesday

Three nights in the last week of the season down, only four more to go! Wednesday night was a light night in the action, which saw five games go on the schedule and most of those games were fairly light, in terms of Draft team action. There wasn't much for movement or really even for points from any team in the top four, so very little has changed going into a very busy Thursday night.

Leon's team now sits at 14 points for the week and still has a 27-point lead going into the last four days of the regular season. It looks like he'll hold up as the pool leader. He's currently got six players with 2 points each. I think it was only Ilya Bryzgalov that picked up points for him on Wednesday night, after a win against the Predators. Actually, I think Chris Stewart may have picked up a point against the Oilers as well, so it wasn't a bad night for Leon.

Wayne still sits in 2nd place and still holds a 10-point lead over 3rd place. Everyone on his team is really being overshadowed by Nicklas Backstrom, but I believe Shea Weber and Patrick Kane did some good for Wayne's team on Wednesday night with some points. The 10-point lead could just as easily slip away on a busy night like Thursday, so he'll need a lot of help containing Dale B. and Larry for another night. Wayne will go into the night's action with a pool-best, 22 points in the week already.

Dale B. will start Thursday night in 3rd place, only holding 1-point lead over Larry for the last money position, actually losing a couple points on the lead that he had going into action on Wednesday night. It wasn't an overly-productive Wednesday, only picking up a couple points from Wojtek Wolski against the Predators, but he should be in line for a big night on Thursday with the bulk of his team going; his 10-point total for the week should get a good boost, but will it be good enough to catch Wayne?

Larry, the last of the money hopes, did pull a couple points up on Dale B. on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to both T.J. Oshie and Keith Yandle, picking up a pair of points each. Larry still has five players still to play three games each this week, so he's got all sorts of games left to play, which could be enough to take a money spot back by the end of the week.
