Draft Player Scratches

It appears to be that Rob Schremp is in the doghouse on Long Island, as he made another trip back up to the press box on Wednesday night, as the Islanders took on the Lightning at home, suffering a 4-2 loss.  This isn't Schremp's first stop in the press box this season and if he doesn't get his game back together, it may not be his last.

The Capitals are also in the mood for sending a message to one of their players, as Tomas Fleischmann was chosen to represent the regular players in the press box on Wednesday night.  The Capitals beat the Sabres 4-2 on Wednesday night without their Swedish sniper, but he has been suffering on the scoresheet, so a trip to the press box is meant to light a fire under his ass.

ImplicationsI think one of the worst things that can happen to players that you've taken in the draft is the healthy scratch listing on the news page.  It's very likely that the player has not been playing well to begin with and will miss at least one game to try and sort things out in his head to try and rectify that problem.   In today's installment of the scratches, both Neil and Clayton, respectively, have players on the list who are in need of a swift kick to the head.
