Sheet Player News (Nov 25)

The Buffalo Sabres continue to deal with some line-up issues, as it was felt that Craig Rivet had to sit again as a healthy scratch on Wednesday night.  Rivet has not been putting up great numbers either offensively or defensively, so the Box 28 defenseman found his way to the press box again.  In 14 games, Rivet only has 1 assist and is a -6.  I wonder if Rivet would be able to find a new home somewhere else as a rental player, since he is on the final year of his current deal.

The word out of Columbus is that Box 8 forward Nikita Filatov is back in the doghouse with the team after missing out on a team function by sleeping in and was punished on Wednesday night by spending the game in the press box as a healthy scratch.  Filatov has been less-than-impressive in his return to the NHL this season, having only 7 assists in 19 games so far, which is well below the expectations set out for him at the beginning of the year.  I am wondering if there is going to be any further falling out with the club after this.
