More Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 18)
There's only three games in the NHL tonight, so we'll give it a quick preview of all three games and how they shape the potential points in the pool tonight.
In the only early game (6pm MT), the Blackhawks head into the Big Apple to take on the Rangers and it looks like Cam Talbot will get at least one more test for the Rangers, before the regular number one gets back into the net. He is expected to take on Corey Crawford, who will play both games of a Chicago back-to-back, as the Hawks look to stay in the Central Division playoff picture. It's a top 10 team goalie battle, as 5th place Brian and 9th place Dale C. each have a goalie going. With 7 points the gap between them, this could turn into a good swing game in the standings.
At 8pm MT, the Columbus Blue Jackets start a Western Canada swing with a stop in Edmonton, taking on the Oilers. Both teams don't have much for playoff aspirations this year, so it's all in the points these days. Tonight's goalie match-up appears to be Curtis McElhinney for the visitors and Ben Scrivens for the home side. McElhinney belongs to Stuart, who is in 12th, 7 points out of the top 10 and Scrivens belongs to Brenda & Seward, who are 32 points behind Stuart. Not a big match-up, but it could be an okay game.
Finally, the latest game of the night, it's a Pacific Division clash, as the Kings will visit the Ducks tonight, as two playoff teams look to solidify their positions. There is one goalie confirmed for this one, Anaheim's John Gibson is going to make his fourth start in a row. It is expected that he'll be taking on Jonathan Quick in the Kings net, especially given that the Kings are in the tightest playoff race in the West. Gibson, a non-pool goalie, will be taking on Quick, who belongs to Grant S., the current leader for the Mover & Shaker this week, as he looks to strengthen his grasp on 2nd place in the standings.
