The Carolina Hurricanes may be without defenseman Bret Hedican (Box 22) for a short period of time. He has taken a leave of absence from the team and missed the 'Canes game against Minnesota on Thursday night. There is no actual reason as to why he's left or for how long, but with the Hurricanes in the playoff hunt, they may not want him away for long.
