Season Done for Ohlund

You can't fault the guy for trying. Mattias Ohlund (Dale B.) tried to play through his bone chips in his knee, but now the defenseman has decided to undergo surgery to repair his knee, which will keep him out of the line-up for the rest of the regular season.

Ohlund had suffered all sort of injuries through the season, so he only managed to play 53 games and score 24 points (9G, 15A). Oh, and don't forget his suspension this season... he did miss some games for a slashing incident against Minnesota.

Losing a defenseman isn't anything new for the Canucks. They have been down defensemen for the bulk of the season, so this shouldn't come as a big surprise. This should open up the door up for young defenseman, Luc Bourdon (Box 11), for the rest of the season.
