For the purposes of being bought out, the Flames placed Rhett Warrener, Anders Eriksson and Marcus Nilson on waivers on Thursday. All three veterans will have the chance to be picked up by another team for their current salaries.All three players are in their final years of their current deals, where Warrener is scheduled to make $2.35 million, Eriksson has $1.5 coming to him and Nilson has $1 million. Teams have 24 hours to decide whether or not to take them on.
Eriksson was the only real fantasy pool player of the three and he had a disappointing 18 points in 61 games for the Flames, ending up being a healthy scratch on several occasions. He was signed on as an unrestricted free agent last summer.
