Tuesday Night's Runaround

Box 29 defenseman, Aaron Ward, was a game-time decision with a leg injury on Tuesday night. In the end, Ward wasn't a go for the Bruins, who ended up losing a close game against the Wild, 2-0. Ward has not had the easiest of seasons this year, either being scratched or injured through quite a few games, only playing in 29 game this year.

With Craig Rivet figuring back into the Buffalo line-up, the Sabres needed to move someone out. Surprisingly, the team made room by scratching Toni Lydman, a Box 28 defenseman on the Sheet. Upon further review, Lydman's numbers may suggest that he may need a little kick in the pants to start producing again, only having 10 points in 39 games for the Sabres.

With some of their defensive injury woes passing by, it looks like Frank Kaberle's role with the Hurricanes has officially diminished. Kaberle passed through waivers last week, which should give the Hurricanes some options, including sending him down to the minors, which could relieve the team of some of his $2.28 million cap hit. Stay tuned for any roster movements.

The Blue Jackets are trying their damndest to get into the playoffs this year, but the big evil injury bug may have struck again, this time to a superstar. Rick Nash tumbled into the boards awkwardly on Tuesday night against the Red Wings, leaving the game with an ankle injury. There was no immediate word on the extent of the injury, but that should come soon.

The Coyotes blueline is still very undecided today or last night, for that matter. Tuesday night's scratch was Ken Klee, who hasn't been scratched in some time of late, while Keith Yandle figured back into the line-up for their game against the Blackhawks. If there was ever a team in desperate need of a guy like Jay Bouwmeester (the centre of many trade rumours), it would be Phoenix. That would sure settle that situation down a lot.

The Penguins took a couple of injury blows against the Thrashers on Tuesday night. Both Ruslan Fedotenko and Pascal Dupuis left the game with injuries, Fedotenko, a suspected hand injury and Dupuis, an undisclosed injury. Te extent of both injuries were not immediate available, but should be disclosed before the team's next game on Thursday against the Predators.

Your info is bad. Ward hasn't been a single healthy scratch this year and he's been paired with Chara most of the year.... how is that a rough season.
