Saturday Night's Sheet Scratches

This really hasn't bee a good season for Box 21 forward, Bryan Little, who went from being a first line player (mostly to try and improve his numbers) to being a healthy scratch on Saturday against the Devils. Little's play and confidence has seemingly suffered, which has led to some tailed off ice-time, unless he can start the game with some of the top line players. I would imagine that the leash is rather short nowadays.

There seems to be a bit of a carousel among the Islanders blueliners in Week Twelve, as Freddie Meyer joins the list of defenders who have spent a game in the press box as a healthy scratch. Meyer joins Bruno Gervais and Andy Sutton as those singled out defenders that need to improve their play in order for the Islanders to improve their rank in the standings.

On Sunday, the Rangers decided to call Matt Gilroy back up from the AHL after a 10-day stint down in the minors. Gilroy had reportedly had a productive stint and the Rangers could use a confident young defender again in their line-up, as the team as a whole hasn't played with a great deal of confidence of late.
