Player Notes in the Playoffs (May 4)

Box 17 forward David Desharnais was a late scratch on Sunday night before the Canadiens played host to the Lightning in Game 2 of their Atlantic Division Finals series and he was replaced by Brian Flynn.  Desharnais, reportedly dealing with a flu bug, may have been missed, as Flynn was not very effective on the penalty kill or 5-on-5, as he was on the ice for a couple of the Lightning's six goals.

The word on Monday afternoon is that Desharnais will not be travelling with the club from Montreal to Tampa for Game 3 and Game 4 will also be in serious doubt.

Desharnais was taken five times in the pool this time around and has been one of the better options in Box 17, despite only having 2 points in these playoffs.

Only one game again on Monday night, as the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals will look to break their series split in Game 3 at the Verizon Center tonight.

The heavy pool favourite in net, Henrik Lundqvist, taken 18 times, will go up against Braden Holtby, taken once, again in this series.  It has been good so far and there is no reason to think that it won't be good again tonight.

An updated list of injuries can be found here.
