The Edmonton Oilers continued to make their cuts on Monday afternoon and included in their cuts was a projected roster player in Brad Malone, placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the AHL. That should open the door for Ty Rattie, who has been playing shotgun on Connor McDavid's wing in this preseason and with some very positive results. Malone's number comes down to an AHL call-up level, but Rattie and his performance in the preseason has now elevated his number into something worthy of our consideration. I'm sure some Oilers fans will have his name in their back pocket.

Afternoon Camp Demotions (Sep 24)
