It might be a little late for Tuukka Rask (non-pool), but he may get a little bit of consideration for the Waiver Draft next week. The Bruins haven't had much to cheer about in goal so far this season, so a guy like Rask could be what the team needs. Rask made 30 saves in his NHL debut versus the Leafs last night and registered the win. If Rask is to get a start in the Bruins last two games or plays them both, you may want to look at him for your pool team if you want to sneak one through. As of right now, Rask is just a tryout for the big club.
The Rangers have sent down winger Nigel Dawes (non-pool) on Wednesday morning, so if you're looking to the young winger, who was playing the likes of Brendan Shanahan (Marcus), for your Waiver Draft picks. Dawes only has 4 goals and 5 points so far with the blueshirts and probably isn't quite as hot as you may think he was.
On the bright side for the Rangers, Martin Straka (Don) has been cleared for contact drills and should be good to go sooner rather than later.
The New Jersey Devils are going to have a strong blueline here real quick. Martin Brodeur (Don) will be a happy camper when both Paul Martin (Box 17) and Colin White (Box 23) are both close to returning. Martin has been out about a week or so with a sore back, while White has been recovering from an eye injury and is getting used to blurred vision. Both players have been back to practice of late and could very well be in the Devils line-up tonight.
It doesn't seem to be Marc-Andre Bergeron's (Dennis) on Long Island. He doesn't seem to be impressing the coaching staff much for the Islanders and continues to sit on a game-by-game basis, which doesn't help Dennis at all. Unless the Islanders suffer some sort of serious blueline injury, Bergeron's ice-time will continue to be limited.
Winger Pavol Demitra (Ryan) will try to return to practice tomorrow for a return on the weekend or some time next week. Demitra has been out with a groin injury, which has kept him out of the line-up for 7 games already. Groin injuries do seem to linger if they are not taken care of properly, so the Wild aren't going to rush him back.
The Coyotes have done some shuffling in their goaltending ranks this week and Ilya Bryzgalov (Box 12) and Mikael Tellqvist (Box 12) seem to be the winners of those sweepstakes. Alex Auld (non-pool) was sent down to the minors yesterday, where they already have David Aebischer (Marcus) and David Leneveu (non-pool) staying warm. Bryzgalov is expected to make his second start tonight against Los Angeles for the Coyotes.
