We'll start with an injury in the nation's capital. Ray Emery (Aaron) was playing baseball over the weekend when he tweaked his back and started some back spasms. Emery has already been in the doghouse this year for his lack of effort in practice and as much as the team is downplaying the injury, you would have to believe that Martin Gerber (Chris) is in a real good position going forward.
Islanders forward Bill Guerin (Dale B.) took a puck to the face over the weekend and is now sitting out with some bleeding around his eye. The severity of the injury isn't too clear at the moment, but it should keep him out of the line-up through the week.
Thrashers defenseman, Garnet Exelby (Box 23) has sat out the last couple games with an ankle injury. He'll be listed as day-to-day through this week. The big defenseman was not a popular player in the Selection Sheet pool, but just in canse you wanted to make a trade for him... you probably shouldn't.
