It appears that the Canucks have re-signed restricted free agent forward Jannik Hansen to a new 1-year, two-way deal worth about $550,000 (According to CapGeek.com). Hansen, 23, played in 55 games with the Canucks last season, also splitting time with the team's AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. With the Canucks, he scored 6 goals and added 15 assists, which ranks fairly low in the league standings.
The salary cap hit is nice & small enough for the team to absorb with little pressure on the remaining cap space, especially with a few young players left to come on and fill the roster up. The Canucks now have 20 players signed on for $54.4 million, leaving $2.4 million left for three players. It's still a bit tricky, but still manageable.
