The Red Wings have announced that they have signed free agent forward Patrick Eaves to a new 1-year deal. Eaves was bought out this summer by Boston, after he was dealt there from Carolina in the off-season for Aaron Ward.
Eaves, 25, has played games in both Ottawa and Carolina in his career, but hasn't had a great shake at it, especially for being a first round pick in 2003. In 242 regular season games, Eaves only has 45 goals and 45 assists to his name, which is not great numbers, especially for fantasy purposes.
In 2009, Eaves did play in 74 games, registering 14 points, so there is a lot of improvement to be made. Fortunately for him, he'll be going to a team which does a good job with their players and already has a cast that can make new faces a little bit better.
