Scary moment in yesterday afternoon's game in New Jersey, as Devils defenseman John Moore was hit awkwardly, head first, into the boards by Washington forward Tom Wilson, early in the 1st period. Moore had to be stretchered off the ice, but the early reports were saying that he was conscious and doing okay, afterwards. The Devils have placed the defenseman on the Injured Reserve, as he has suffered a concussion and he will be out for an indefinite period of time.
This season, Moore has been fairly decent for the Devils, picking up 5 goals and 13 points in 37 games for the team, which is currently good enough to be 292nd overall in pool scoring. Unfortunately, that ranking will drop significantly with this injury.
In the pool, however, Moore was a Waiver Draft pick-up of Dale B.'s, as his now 8th placed team does start to struggle with injury and inconsistency. His team will open Sunday's action only 17 points out of the money, but is now down a forward and a defenseman this week to injury. Dale's team could use another point or two, as it's only 2 points clear of the Basement Dweller this week.
