It appears that the Dallas Stars are going to play the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night without Jamie Benn, as the team's second-best player in pool scoring will be out with a foot injury. Benn suffered the injury on Saturday night against the Panthers, but his status quickly dwindled on Tuesday, going from questionable early in the morning to out early in the afternoon. The injury doesn't sound very serious, but the Stars don't want to take any chances with their captain.
On the bright side, they should have Antoine Roussel coming back and if he does return from his current undisclosed injury, he will take Benn's spot on the top line, with Jason Spezza and Tyler Seguin.
The loss of Benn will certainly hurt Eric's team, which has already dropped out of the top 10 this week, after one night, but the return of Roussel will definitely aid Troy's team, as he tries to march up the PIM pool standings.
The Philadelphia Flyers are ready to welcome back Michal Neuvirth to active duty, as they have activated the veteran Czech goalie from the Injured Reserve and sent Anthony Stolarz back down to the AHL. Stolarz appeared in only four games while up with the Flyers, picking up 2 wins and 1 shutout for 6 points, but Neuvirth does carry some seniority on the team and will be looked upon to help lessen the burden on Steve Mason on an everyday basis.
Unfortunately for Tony, he dropped Neuvirth for Stolarz and he needed to get some points from somewhere. The real kicker was, he only picked up 4 of those 6 points, since he was activated late into his recall. Yes, Tony's luck continues to be dragged through broken glass.
