Welcome to the new week, the first full one of the 2017 calendar year and it's still technically a holiday today, although not all of us are getting it. Nevertheless, we have three games on the schedule, including the Winter Classic, the second outdoor game in two days, so let's hop on it.
It's a battle of number one goalies in St. Louis this morning/afternoon, which also makes this survival game... a double whammy! Nice! Mike will look for his win to move onto Week Fourteen with Jake Allen in the St. Louis net today, while Marcin looks to improve upon his outdoor mini-game standings with the outdoor veteran in Corey Crawford today. A decision in either direction has an effect on one pool or the other today.
That's not the only survival game on deck today, as Troy's only active goalie could really ease the anxiety of having one goalie in the last four teams of the survivor pool. Tuukka Rask should be in net for the Boston Bruins tonight, when they visit the New Jersey Devils and Cory Schneider at the other end. Schneider will give a start to Stuart, who opens the week in ##th place, ## points out of the money.
The Vancouver Canucks will get the luxury of hosting the Colorado Avalanche tonight and the only real story line in the pool comes from the home team, where Brenda & Seward should get another start from Ryan Miller tonight and they are knocking on the door of the money spots after another decent week. It doesn't look like the Avalanche have much choice on who they go with, as it should Calvin Pickard again tonight, giving Derek B. a start, but the team in front of him hasn't exactly been giving him much hope.
