Well, if Troy is going to make a run at this, he's certainly got Matt Martin of the Maple Leafs to thank for that. A 5-minute major for fighting midway through the game against Tampa's Braydon Coburn and then another 10-minute misconduct near the end of the game helped him out sit Marcie's team, 19-6 on Thursday night.
We now open up an exceptionally quiet night, thanks to a busy Saturday and Sunday, with the lead in the PIM pool down to 46 minutes. It's still a huge gap and Marcie's team is still heavily favoured to take the crown, but penalty minutes do come in bunches and it will be interesting to see if any of these goons end up playing in meaningful games over the weekend.
Troy now leads the weekly goon competition, 34-32 on Marcie's team, which isn't nearly enough to take the crown away, but it's a step in the right direction.
Only one game tonight, as the Lightning and Canadiens play tonight at the Bell Centre and neither Marcie or Troy have players going in this game, so it's rather moot.
