Cuts in Calgary

The Flames assigned 13 players to their farm team, the Quad City Flames, thus reducing their roster to 34 players. There were no real surprises in who went from the club down to the minors, but the watch is still on for the back-up job behind Miikka Kiprusoff. Brent Krahn, Leland Irving and Curtis McElhinney are still in camp. McElhinney is the only goalie for the Flames to win a game in the preseason, so he might have the inside track in the last couple weeks of camp.
